Healthy eating is the very foundation of good health, a strong immune system, feeling good and managing health conditions, but it takes more to live with independence and dignity.  And that’s why Meals on Wheels Orange County offers so much more than a meal.  Our caring volunteers also bring a smile and a friendly chat while making sure all is well or that, in case of an emergency or problem, medics will be called and families are notified.  We deliver Meals on Wheels in these cities in Central & North Orange County:

Who Qualifies

Meals on Wheels Orange County participants must be 60 or older and be homebound because of illness, disability or lack of mobility. This usually means you have difficulty shopping and/or preparing meals and do not have family or friends you can depend on for regular meal support.

What We Deliver

Meals on Wheels Orange County delivers:

  • Three nutritious meals a day, five days a week
  • A friendly face, friendly chat, and safety check
  • Quarterly Wellness assessments at home or by phone with a Meals on Wheels Orange County Case Manager
  • Home safety modifications and assistive devices to help keep your home a safe place
  • Personal Care/Homemaking (when funding is available) for basic personal care and homemaking assistance for participants who qualify
  • Referrals to community services such as caregiver respite, home health evaluations, or other needed services

Client Contributions

The suggested contribution for the Meals on Wheels program is $5.25/day. No individual is turned away due to an inability to make a contribution. Any contribution, no matter how large or small, helps Meals on Wheels Orange County continue to bring Meals on Wheels to Orange County older adults.
